Commitment to Environmental, Social and Governance

When Luminous Energy first started in 2013, the founding directors believed that solar technology offered a simple, scalable, and reliable way to address a significant portion of the global energy demand. Today, that founding belief remains central to our vision, but the focus has expanded to encompass all forms of renewable energy.

Our mission and founding principles drive the business objectives, with a primary focus on prioritizing projects and markets that contribute to decarbonizing electricity supplies.

There are also four key values that support our mission statement and guide our business and team development. These are:

POSITIVITY

We enable our people to make a positive contribution to the world; this optimism helps us overcome the challenges inherent with developing impactful projects

PEOPLE

We aim to bring out the best in our people to create a team of exceptional individuals who deliver our ambitious goals and leave a legacy they can be proud of

PLANET

We invest our time and resources into opportunities that help combat climate change, and seek to implement initiatives that enhance biodiversity on individual projects

PRINCIPLED

We are open, honest and strive to develop projects that communities are happy to be part of

Luminous recognises that responsibility extends beyond the development and construction of renewable energy projects, which is why the company supports Young People’s Trust for the Environment in the UK, and why we use two criteria – tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent (for worldwide projects) and biodiversity net gain (UK only), to measure the impact of our work.

Luminous Energy has generated over 800 MW of clean energy to date, with 5 GW in the pipeline. By 2030, we aim to have 20 GW of renewable energy projects under development or operational, a significant milestone in our mission to decarbonize electricity worldwide – our core purpose.
